Lessons For Kids
I make a point of keeping piano lessons both fun and engaging while building a strong foundation for your child's musical development.
Beginner students will begin with the basics, such as learning notes, playing scales and chords, and maintaining a steady and even rhythm. Following, students slowly progress from playing songs with one hand to playing with both hands together. This is where the magic starts to happen!
I emphasize different parts of my curriculum, depending on the specific needs and desires of each student and his or her family.
I use a variety of piano books and materials, such as dry-erase markers and flashcards to keep kids engaged during lessons. In addition, I use various tablet and phone apps to keep my students' learning on a fast track!
For students under the age of seven, I ask that a parent be involved with their lessons and practice sessions at home. From my experience, having a parent as a "co-teacher" dramatically improves a student's ability to learn and perform with confidence.
